For Trainees and Students:
Trainer: Dr Chris Bevan
The Practice is located at a purpose built health centre in the North East of Bath, with a list size of 12,000 patients.
We are a young (ish!) enthusiastic partnership keen to offer a high level of patient care. The Practice benefits from having District Nurses, Health Visitors, Chiropody, Counselling and Physiotherapy on site. The close association with these members of the primary health care team promotes effective communication and an appreciation of the skills of other health care professionals. The geographical position in the town provides the practice with an interesting and varied group of patients and we are also the medical officers to Bath Spa University.
The practice is computerised and has regular clinical meetings and is well supported by a team of committed staff.
Dr Chris Bevan has been a trainer since 1994. He was a previous Registrar at Fairfield Park Health Centre. He is a Clinical Assistant in Dermatology. He is an examiner for the Royal College of General Practitioners.
Dr Jeremy Gilbert has a special interest in Diabetes and Occupational Medicine and is the Medical Officer for the Bath Spa University College.
Dr Carole Groenhuysen is a half-time partner and has a special interest in Women's health.
Dr Marie-Claire Hamling is a half-time partner and has a special interest in Minor surgery, Family Planning and Paediatrics.
Fairfield Park Health Centre has a long tradition of General Practice Training. We aim to provide high quality education and appropriate practical experience with the GP Registrar playing an important and respected role as part of an enthusiastic and committed primary care team. We are committed to providing high quality training in a supportive and friendly environment.
